Never lose yourself, YOU all you have...

Its very easy to blend in, and let things slide, but in that process we tend to lose ourselves, our personal goals in life, and our personality. We become like "the rest." Do things because that is what considered "okay." Be consumed in the trend...

Friendship (Philos Love)

Latest trend is people saying "I keep my circle small." That's one thing, it can be a good thing if you have selected the right circle, and not accepted the few that you have not been able to get rid off. We all need that one person you trust, and you know will support you with your personal journey and vice versa. Be careful of mimicking someone else's goals as your own. Be a good friend by allowing yourself to be you and the other to be them...

Family

This has to be the hardest relationship to manage and still be able to remain sane. The expectations of us may hinder us from achieving the goals you have set for yourselves. They can be financially, emotionally, and somewhat spiritually draining. They are not going anywhere, we love to hate them. This is that time you learn to say NO! Family can be the most manipulative human beings EVER!

Romantic (Eros Love)

Love neh... Greatest mind F*ck of all time!! expectation in this department is intense!! We are mostly advised that compromise is the only way to make this work. Trick is to differentiate compromise and sacrifice... The amount of compromise between partners should be balanced, because if not, it ends up being sacrifice on one end. Ensure your partner puts in the same amount of compromise as you do. If you are always getting your way, you must know that at some point your partner will give in, and it will be it! Its over! Its all about managing our expectations.

Spiritual (Agape Love)

We all want to believe in something! Its almost a need! But do not be swallowed in it. Let it guide you... Let it heal your heart and soul, but remember, its an evil world we leave in... We have different beliefs, and that is okay... learn to deal with people, and learn to stay focused to what YOU want... LET YOUR SPIRTUALITY SUPPORT YOU not burden you, not push you back and definitely NOT define you (this is debatable)!

Be kind to one another...

Travelling in the CBD

Whether by car, taxi or bus, most of us have no choice but to find ourselves commutting in Central Business Districts. I know from experience that these are the busiest and most dangerous areas to find yourself. A place where a CEO of a company and a gang leader of a Nyaope crew can be found fumbling about trying to get to their points of business.

This is a place where; unfortunately; you as a person become ispani. Where your belongings become the surrounding community's. Your phone can easily get "asked" for and your wallet can grow legs. Many have fallen victim to the dwellers of the CBD streets whilst enroute to attend their duties. Here's how I manage to always make it out the commotion with all my belongings intact:

-Knowing where I am going. I never leave home not knowing exactly where I'm going and how to get there. Criminals are always on a lookout for someone who doesn't know their surroundings. Also, looking for directions might lead you to getting directed to a point where a criminal will find it easier to corner and take advantage of you.

- Don't be too friendly. When walking in the CBD, it is expected of you to not greet or smile with the people around you. Friendliness open up a chanel for criminals to find your weak point and pounce on it to their benefit.

- Keeping baggage to a minimum. When you know you are going to a busy place like the JHB CBD, it will help you to keep luxury items away from prying eyes. Flashing your phone, tablet or even ipad means you are ready to share because one way or another, you become a target market instantly.

- Wear comfortable clothes; put your heels in a bag and walk in flats if you have to. Nothing says target market or newbie like a person trying to make it through all that commotion in sky high heels. Trying to keep your balance while maneuvering through the crowds can be a bit tricky.

- If driving, concentrate. Get off your phone. I once saw a guy's phone get snatched emarobotini through an open window.

- Keep bags and other items you don't need in the boot of your car. Honestly, getting a window smashed for a purse is not worth it.

- If at some point you have to drive and park your car in the CBD and walk somewhere please take note to make sure your car is locked. Otherwise you will come back and your car will be cleaned out or just gone all together, car jamming is real, you will find yourself searching for your car under a brick.  Also, park in well known paid-parking as opposed to the side of the road, it is safer.

- Avoid bargains that look too good to be true. I've heard of posers who scout for victims in shops, offer to sell them stuff via back doors just to rob them of their money nje.

Many ways to skin a cat

There are many ways to cure ailments. Some proven and with research to back up their effectivenes while others are trusted ways handed down from generation to generation. There are also fashionable ways to handle certain ailments. Depending on who you talk to, other methods are more effective that others. Or Even embarassing to mention in public, yet first point of consultaion.

Sangomas & traditional healers: for many generations, many Africans (even non African, think Harry Porter) have relied on this method for healing as a way of health. This method uses mainly herbs, plants and rarely animal by-products to make medicine. You may also refer to it as the ancient way of handling health. It also has a taboo element too which has; over the decades; been the reason behind traditional healing's unporpularisings. The spell casting where herbal mixtures get used to cause a user's enemy badluck or to create favorable situations for the user whether it be at work or in their love lives. Even as far as Penis enlargements kiiiiiiiiiiii Training usually takes between 4 weeks and can be up to a year, based on how the trainee healer's ancestors respond or the depth of said trainee's calling level.

Western medication: This has become the mainstream way that most nations receive medical help. Most of the medicines used in this methods are derived from experimental testing with some even tested of lab animals to check their effectiveness. We have become reliant on it so much so that when a person has a temperature the first thing they think is to see a doctor or look up symptoms, dignose and head to the chemist for self medication

Fashion medication: This method applies to a number of practices that usually are popular at one time and before you know it, gone with the wind. Some are taken from ancien practices and made famous due to them being seen used by well known personalities. Example: the fish pond pedicure. Where you put your feet into a pond with special live fish and they feed off your dead skin.

Religious rituals: Other people prefer this method over the above methods. Getting down on your knees and praying for any health challenge to step back. Asking the Lord to fix it. Using prayed-for water to wash away alien beings that cause illness. Using ditayelo instead of other Scientific and traditional. This method has seen a lot of new age "Pastas" surfacing and promising healings of ailments that have been proven to be incurable.

These are just some of the healing methods I have been exposed to. Of the 3mentioned, only 2 are openly spoken about. We tend to look down on the first one, the Sangomas. Most of us "consult" with the moons yet none is ready nor willing to come forth and share details. Why? Do you trolls moon-consult? Do you prefer to see a doctor for everything that goes wrong or are you a hippie that goes with the latest trend in medicine? Or, do you prefer a different way that you find is more effective or even more practical than the abovementioned. Let's share and if anyone moon-consults, share with us so we can pass it on to @Yoyo & Panini.

My Weekend Round Up

Happy Monday, welcome back.

Oh boy what a weekend it was. It was my proper weekend after working 2weekends in a row without rest. As expected Friday I headed straight home to some well deserved rest. Woke up and got some breakfast ine bed. Chilled with a certain short person and later on went to some chilas. Sunday I hooked up with Nyiko (yes, I am embracing my options) and we went to get our cars washed. The rain wouldn't let us be great so we gave up and went to grab something to eat. Nkosiyami I had missed being his centre of attention. Ksazo fetswa lana bazalwane.

Went home and cozzied up to some Sunday TV. #LBMzansi was about some couple acting like they're trying to get back together kanti they were just hustling for a job for the dude who'd been an extra kwi Generations. I hope the relevant agents were watching and will hook the brother up. And then there was  #Bootcamp with Nonhle and her attitude plus unique voice. But then the highlight of the Sunday TV tradition came in the form of #OPW. DG!!!! I will let you trolls dissect this.

The SAFTA's also took place last night. I will update you with the winners and images in thhe comments section in the morning.
