TGIF, I am bushed. I just wanna knock off and go sleep nje... Don't know why I am always tired, it must be the summer. Anyway, here's what caught my attention in the news this week.
4 suspects were nabbed for tying up the cops, robbing them of their weapon, putting them in the back of a police van and fleeing leaving the cops in there. All this happened in full view of people in front of a food caravan in Thembisa. it actually has me worrying, stru... Just how trained are our boys in blue? How is it that they were not equipped with some kind of skill to handle this? Basically it has mw thinking thugs can just grab guns from cops in the streets and just run. Very clumsy I tell ya
2 South African boys that were found living in the streets of Brazil were brought home this week. It is said that their mother is in jail serving a sentence for a drug trafficking related charges. So I take it these women are not prepared to learn how quick money never ever pays.... These women make me mad because they insist on being drug mules just to score a quick buck, despite the fact that the consequences are gonna affect their loves ones badly. Dump decision making nje
The Diwani case is still on, and now the suspect Zola Tongo to have sang like a canary in his new home behind bars. He is said to have told a cellmate that he was advised to frame Shrien for the murder of his wife etc etc. My issue here is that an inmate is now going to be made a witness in a case he is not jailed for. Why is this turning into a he said circus kanti?
Hayi bafethu, it seems gins are also the new desciplinary way... Everyday in the news there is a report of a shooting. Can we just calm down?
Anyway, lets trollpix away. Today we are trollpicing our baby snaps or even Sammie (Senzo's dad's carlfie. ) lemme go hustle for a photographer to "shoot" me

Handling The Green Eyed Monster
A few months back, my boyfriend and I went to an evening
event and instead of getting dressed up, I wore a more casual outfit that
I felt really good about. Once we arrived though, that feeling
dissipated immediately and the longer we were there, the more critical
I became of myself. I examined every other girl around me, kicking myself
because their braids were prettier, dresses were cooler, and lipsticks applied
expertly. It made me dislike my outfit (and in turn myself) even more. Besides
the fact that I looked like a certifiable creep while I stood there silently
scrutinizing, I was full-on indulging one of the ugliest qualities there is:
jealousy.
When I'm feeling my best and leading a balanced life, I
don't let what others are doing impact me in a negative way. It boils down to
the fact that when I'm fulfilled, there's less room for insecurities to rear
their ugly head. I'm more focused on things that make me happy. But for those
times when I'm discouraged or am simply having a bad day, it's easy to get
wrapped up in feelings of envy when I start comparing myself to others,
particularly online. Whether it's someone else's picture-perfect Pinterest
board, Instagram or amazing vacation photos, I experience pangs of jealousy now
and again. However, it's what I do with those feelings that defines me.
I now acknowledge when I'm feeling jealous, and then try to
assess what is out of whack in my life that is causing me to pick myself apart
so harshly. Have I been feeling bad about not exercising? Or perhaps I'm
feeling uninspired with work? Whatever it is, I know that jealousy begins and
ends with my own self-worth and happiness. There will always be someone who is
smarter, funnier, prettier and more successful than I am, but retaining a sense
of positive perspective is the key to my happiness. I try to shift from
pinpointing the things that I should be doing better to the
things I do well. And somewhere in the process of changing my perspective, I
find that my jealousy slowly fades away.

My favourite dining spots
My friends and I sometimes find ourselves out of ideas where night outing is concerned; yes there are hundreds of lovely spots but which ones do you find yourselves frequenting? We are always keen on places with lively music and a relaxed ambiance not too uptight, those are for date nights. Being pro #teamtenthousand the places need to be on the classy side off course. I’m not big on Sandton CBD’s I find the regular crowd overwhelming, cool kids and the miss thangz. My gals always drag me to Melrose, I find it calmer in the evenings. Hotel bars are also fun, have never been to the Maslow though.
Tried some, I’m yet to try others from these recommended on the Best of Joburg magazine:
DW Eleven-13 – Dunkeld West Shopping Centre (It even gives London. Paris and New York a run for their money, they say…) Dunkeld West shopping Centre, Cnr Jan Smuts and Bompas Rd
Pigalle for the romantics – Michael Angelo Towers, Melrose Arch and Bedforview cnr kloof and Van Buuren Rd
Pronto italian restaurant – The Colony shopping Centre, 345 Jan Smuts Ave, Craighall Park
Mythos – Design Quarters oh so it’s not only a seafood place, I avoided it for so long because I don’t eat seafood
Throbbing Strawberry – Cnr Leslie and Douglas Rd, I enjoy their Duck and orange
Taj Mahal Curry – Hobart Grove Shopping Centre…. if you are trying to do Indian without compromising your diet
Swad – Melrose Arch also comes highly recommended
Ghazal – my favourite Indian food restaurant because memories kiiii and they play vibey music in the background so could work for a Friday dinner with friends
Life Gran CafĂ© – Waterfall corner and Hyde Park corner
Where do you guys dine ?

Online Shopping in South Africa
I discovered
online shopping earlier this year, I had just started working and you know how
it is, you want to experience all these things because you can now afford them,
and for me one of those things was online shopping and I never looked back, the
convince of just buying things from the comfort of your home, who wouldn’t want
that. Almost every month I buy something online, I think I might be obsessed,
but that is a story for another day.
What was
surprising is the amount of online shops we have in South Africa, I honestly
underestimated us as a country, I thought we were not there yet, but I was
wrong. So in this post I will be listing the various online shops we have in
SA, that sell different things, some you may know, some may be new, but they
are worth trying. I have bought somethings in some of these shops and some come
highly recommended by friends and colleagues. So here goes:
For clothes
I will start by listing
the famous and obvious:
Zando.co.za
This is my favorite,
so reliable so fast and definitely worth every penny. I have bought a few items
here and the great thing is the offer you various ways to pay for your purchase
(credit card, EFT bank deposit, cash on delivery (in some areas) and other
ways. All this is on their website. They also have various brands you can
choose from, those Blackcherry bags or Madison shoes, I am a fan.
Spree.co.za
This is also
another famous online shop, it has beautiful bags and just like Zando, it is
very reliable and efficient. It comes highly recommended, it has great clothes
(even maternity wear) and they also sell things for your home, for the
bathroom, bedroom etc. check it out, it is worth it.
Za.stylemology.com
This one is
definitely for your cool kids type of person, so if you have a sister, brother,
kid in their teens you might find something for them here. The prices for some
of the things are a bit too much, but they are of good quality. Plus they do
have some great shoes for the ladies. So have a look at it.
erato.co.za/
Classy and
sophisticated, plus it comes highly recommended by Gracia magazine. This shop
has beautiful shoes and bags, very high quality and very fast and reliable when
it comes to delivery. I love it, and will definitely be buying there soon. It
is worth every penny.
za.nextdirect.com/en/
And last but not
least on this category, it is Next, I recently discovered this shop through a
friend of mine who is also equally obsessed with online shopping. And it is
great, it has everything you can think of, from baby wear, to shoes, to bags,
to homeware. You can find everything you need there. It is very great, I have
ordered a bag there and I am hoping it will not disappoint.
For bags
Since the sites
I have mentioned above also sell bags, I only have one under this category,
that sells bags only and nothing else.
handbag-collection.co.za/
There are two
words to describe this shop, “gorgeous bags”. You just need to visit their site
and see it for yourself. Their bags are of high quality, they are trendy and
beautiful. Very reasonable prices so I say it is definitely worth it!
For
Homeware
I only have 2
websites that I would like to recommend under this category, I am obsessed with
interior design, so I have searched far and wide to find unique pieces for my
little home, and these following shops have been one of the places I have
looked and found somethings that I liked.
volpes.co.za/
For your bedroom
and bathroom this is the shop to visit. They sell everything, from curtains to
duvet cover sets to cushions, you want it for your house, they got it! They
sell great quality stuff. I cannot sell this online shop enough, so I think it
is best you go check it out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
6thelement.co.za/
This is also one
of my favorites when it comes to homeware, it has unique pieces for your home,
worth every penny. The best part is they deliver for free, so all you need to
pay for is the item you are buying and that is it. Depending on the theme of
your house, they will accommodate you, modern, contemporary, they have it.
I could not
personally review all the online shops because I have not bought from them
personally, but here is the list of some of the online shops we have in SA, you
can check them out and see if you find something you like:
Blushonline.co.za, Eliteoccasions.co.za, Poetrystores.co.za, Queueshoes.co.za, Okapi.com/za/, Zoomfootwear.co.za, Figoleather.co.za, Ingoodcompany.co.za, Barakashop.co.za, e-bag.co.za, makoyabrands.com, beadle.co.za, smacs.co.za, soloshoes.co.za
Any other online
shops that have caught your eye specifically South African, so Ali doesn’t
count. LOL or do you have any previous experience with the ones mentioned
above, how was it? Do share..
Happy Online
Shopping!!

My weekend in one paragraph
Happy Monday friends, hope you guys had a lovely weekend. Mine was ok but full of regret tlhe.
I was supposed to have gone to a wedding in Vaal with one of my exes this weekend but found Jesus on Saturday morning and decided to put my phone on silent and hit the mall. Shem he sent me "petrol money" and am honestly debating giving it back. Spent Sunday getting pampered and playing nurse and then playing happy host to uninvited guests. I don't know why people keep visiting me nje, hints just aren't even working on these damn people .
What did y'all get up to?
PS just so you know, we turned 1month old on Saturday.......
