Candy Crash

White Horse, Sugar, Blow, Rush etc
A rich man's skeyf as it is known in the hood
Cocaine.
It brings a thrill to its takers, seduces you until you entirely depend on it
And then, THEN, when you least expect it, dependency hits.
Before you know it you are not you until you have had a sniff.
It becomes your only friend and like a poisonous relationship, slowly destroys your esteem that you think you can't be without it.
Welcome to addiction, cocaine addiction, the reason behind the early departure of some our our beloved personalities.
You will be lucky if you make it out alive
The Name? Coke. Cocaine, Coke!

Here are some of the souls that that cocaine has deprived of a full life.
Tsakani Mhinga
She was Princess but became better knows as the princess with a velvety smooth voice. an award winning R'n B singer who was found dead in a hotel in Bryanston after an alleged cocaine overdose.

Whitney Houston in her heydays
Known the world over for love songs such as "I will always love you" and "I wanna dance with somebody" amongst the many hits that saw her be the darling of RNB and also as an actress, Whitney was unstoppable. She was IT!
At her lowest: Cocaine has no shame
Of course, her life was not to be that of a shining star forever. And so; allegedly; when she hooked up with bad boy Bobby Brown all hell became loose. she was a party animal. There were all sorts of abuse reports and the introduction by the bad boy to the songbird to the white horse. She was never to be the same. It took control of her life in a way that even her career mattered none despite her family trying to intervene to try get her off drugs and numerous rehab stints. After an on and off relationship with the drug, she was found in a bathtub of a Benerly Hills hotels. it is said that she had overdosed and then tried to take a bath. We all know blacks and water moes!!!!

Mabrrrrr
We all know her as Mabrr. The crazy, carefree and forever on cloud nine Brenda Fassie. Famous for her music from well during apartheid until the 90's Brenda sure is on of those artists whose music must have played in more South African houses than any other solo artist. Look, even white people could be found playing a Brenda Fassie music when it was still illegal. Think olden day Nkalakatha to a white person. Despite having been found in a hotel with a body of one of her friends in her earlier life who is said to have died from and OD & having attended a few rehab programmes Brenda still didn't steer clear of drugs for long. In fact, I don't ever remember seeing her sober in the media, she mostly looked cooked. Yet another victim of the relentless drug, she was rushed to hospital in 2004 after having collapsed At Home.  It was said that it was due to asthma and then Cardiac arrest and then later revealed that it had just been a cocaine overdose. Those in the know will tell you that the coke had been spiked with all sorts of poisons such as ratex. Could this have been the birth of Nyaope?

Amy Winehouse
She shot to fame with her famous single "rehab" where she describes and cries about not wanting to go to rehab. A young lady without a bright future Amy was. She had the most captivating voice, I could listen to her and just be but was a troubled soul in that she was an alcoholic and a junkie who almost romanticized intoxication. She died of alcohol intoxication, but rumour had it that cocaine played a big role in her incident too. I wonder if a person needs to attend rehad before entering the judgement house in heaven.

These are just some of the stars whose lives ended sadly due to a habit. A habit that could have been prevented. A habit that had no business being entertained to begin with. Of course there are some who have beat the beast and went on to live productive lives. I will share with you soon, I know most of your attention spans ended at the end of the poem.

Thanks for letting me share, Bzu.
